Become a Lifesaver This Spring: Lifeguard Training Course Starts March 13, 2026 Strong swimmers looking for a meaningful skill and a job that makes a difference are invited to enroll in our Lifeguard Training Course, running March 13 through March 27, 2026. This comprehensive course is taught by American Red Cross Certified Instructors and prepares participants with the skills and confidence needed to prevent emergencies and respond when it matters most. Local Assistance Center at Rick Novack Community Center
Following late December storms that impacted communities including Wrightwood, Lytle Creek, Phelan, and Hesperia, San Bernardino County has partnered with the Hesperia Recreation and Park District (HRPD) to establish a vital Local Assistance Center (LAC) at the James W. Roberts III Gymnasium, located within the Rick Novack Community Center.
