Where is the Rick Novack Community Center (RNCC) gymnasium located?
The RNCC gymnasium is located at 13558 Palm Street, Hesperia, CA 92345.
What is featured at the RNCC gym?
The RNCC gym is designed with regulation-sized basketball and volleyball courts for both youth and adult activities. Stadium-type bleachers are available for spectator participation.
What activities are offered at the RNCC gym?
The gymnasium is home to HRPD’s Youth Basketball Program and Girls Volleyball League. Practices and games are held at the site. In addition to these structured activities, there are Open Gym, Volleyball Training Classes, and Basketball Camp.
What is Open Gym?
Open Gym is offered to those persons interested in playing volleyball and/or basketball on a “drop-in” basis. The activities are open to both youth and adults. Open Gym is offered during weekends only.
When is Open Gym?
Open Gym is offered during weekends only. Volleyball is held on Sundays from 4:30PM to 7:30PM, for both youth and adults. Basketball is held on Sundays with separate sessions for youth and adults. Youth basketball is from 11:00AM to 1:00PM and adult basketball is from 1:30PM to 3:30PM.
Do I have to attend the basketball session for my age group?
Yes. Youth and adult open gym basketball are kept strictly separate.
Do you have to be a Hesperia resident to attend Open Gym?
No. Open Gym participants may live in any city.
What does it cost to attend Open Gym?
The cost for Volleyball Open Gym is $4.00 for residents and $6.00 for non-residents. The fee for Basketball Open Gym is $3.00 for residents and $6.00 for non-residents. Fees are paid at the door, cash only.
What is required to participate in Open Gym?
Youth participants must be 17 years and younger. Adult participants must be 18 years and older. All participants must show either a current school I.D. or a valid government issued I.D.
Are balls supplied during Open Gym?
Volleyballs are provided upon request; however, basketballs are not provided and must be brought by participants.
Can the gymnasium be rented for private use?
No. The gymnasium is only for HRPD programs and activities.
