Where is the Power Play Center located?

The Power Play Center is located at 10770 I Ave., Hesperia, CA 92345.

 

What activities are at the Power Play Center?

Power Play is a unique recreational center that offers a skating rink, arcade, sports facility, and event venue.  A variety of activities such as Open Skate, pickleball, Baggo, and some of our Youth Basketball Program’s practices and games are all held at the facility.  Individuals and organizations may also make reservations to hold parties and events at the Power Play Center.

 

What is Open Skate?

Open Skate is roller skating that is open to the public for a nominal fee.

 

When is Open Skate?

Open Skate is offered to the public on Fridays, from 5:00PM to 9:00PM; and on Saturdays, from 2:00PM to 6:00PM and 6:30PM to 10:30PM.

 

How much does it cost to skate?

Admission is $5.00 per person (all ages) per session and $3.00 per skate rental (all sizes and styles) per session.

 

What types of skates are offered for rental?

Skates available for rent are traditional roller skates and rollerblades.

 

Can I use my own skates?

Yes.  No “Heelys” allowed.

 

Are rollerblades permitted?

Yes.

 

What skate sizes are available?

Available skate sizes are children’s sizes 9 to 4 and adult sizes 5 to 14.  There are limited quantities for each size.

 

How young can a child be to skate?

There is no minimum age requirement.

 

Do I have to stay and watch my child skate?

If your child is 12 years old or younger, a parent must be present. If your child is 13 years old or older, parental supervision is not required; however, if your child is dropped off at the facility, the child must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after the session ends.

 

As a parent, if I am accompanying my child(ren) to the facility and do not want to skate, do I still pay an admission fee?

Yes.

 

If I want to stay longer, do I have to pay for both sessions?

Yes.  An admission fee and skate rental are charged for each session attended.

 

May I bring in food and drinks?

Outside food and/or drinks are not permitted during Open Skate sessions.  The Power Play Center offers food and soda vending machines for patron’s use.  Food and drinks are not allowed on the skating rink.

 How much does it cost to have a skate party?

Am I allowed to arrive early to decorate?

No.  Set up and break down time is included in the time you have reserved.

 

Am I allowed to decorate the room I have rented?

Yes.  However, decorations should not cause damage to the space and are to be removed at the end of your event.

 

Am I allowed to bring food and drink into the building for my event?

Yes, food and drink are permitted only during reserved parties.

 

What type of food and drink are allowed?

Recommended foods for parties are the already prepared “finger-type” foods, such as pizza, sandwiches, chicken, etc.  Drinks in individual packaged servings are acceptable, as well as liter bottles.  For birthday parties, cake and ice cream are allowed.  A refrigerator/freezer is on site for use, although subject to space availability.

Cooking appliances, e.g., crockpots, chaffing dishes, food warmers, coffee makers, etc., are prohibited.  Coolers with ice to keep drinks and food cold are permitted, but may be subject to inspection.  Beverage coolers with a spout containing liquid are not allowed.  No glass bottles.

 

Am I allowed to serve alcohol at my event?

No, alcohol is not allowed at the Power Play Center.

 

Are there any restrictions regarding candles at birthday celebrations?

Small birthday or celebration candles may be used for a short period of time at celebrations.


                                                                                                                                                                          What are Pickleball and Baggo at the Power Play Center?

“Pickleball” is a fun game that is played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34 inches at the center.  The game is played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to wiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles.  It’s easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

 

“Baggo” is a challenging and exciting game in which players take turns throwing bean bags at an angled platform with a hole in the far end.

 

What days are Pickleball and Baggo played?

Pickleball and Baggo are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.

 

How much does it cost to play Pickleball and Baggo?

The cost to play either one or both activities is $4.00 per person on a walk-in basis, ages 18 years and older.  Pickleball paddles are provided.
