A Night on the Town!

Own the dance floor while having fun!  No partner is needed.  Learn our dynamic steps and techniques while gliding around the dance floor.  Types of dances include Ballroom, Swing, Salsa, Merengue, Hustle, Cha-Cha, Night Club Two-Step, Samba, Mambo, Cumbia, Rumba, Waltz, Foxtrot, Carolina Shag, Viennese Waltz, Tango, and Country Two-Step.  Do not miss out on this fun and exciting class!  Bring a friend or meet someone new.

Ballet, Tap, Contemporary

Ballet and Tap Dance Classes are back with a new instructor!  Register early, spots will fill up fast.

Ballet

Petite Ballet

Dancers begin to learn ballet positions and age appropriate technique in a fun environment.  Ballet slippers are required (tights and a leotard are optional, but recommended).  Hair should be pulled away from face, in a bun or ponytail.

AGE: 2 to 3 years
DAY: Tuesday
TIME: 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.

Mini Ballet

Dancers learn ballet positions, age appropriate technique, and begin barre and floor work in a fun environment.  Ballet slippers are required (tights and a leotard are optional, but recommended).  Hair should be pulled away from face, in a bun or ponytail.

AGE: 4 to 6 years
DAY: Tuesday
TIME: 3:45 - 4:30 p.m.
LENGTH: 4 weeks

Beginning/Intermediate Ballet

This class will include floor and barre exercises designed to build core strength, find and maintain balance, and increase flexibility.  Dancers also learn Ballet terminology.  Dancers perfect ballet positions and learn ballet combinations using proper technique.  Ballet slippers are required (tights and a leotard are optional, but recommended).  Hair should be pulled away from face, in a bun or ponytail.

AGE: 7 to 12 years
DAY: Tuesday
TIME: 4:45 - 5:45 p.m.
LENGTH: 4 weeks

This class is for dancers with a solid understanding of ballet positions, technique, and terminology.  It will include barre and floor work using dance combinations designed to continue to build strength and technique.  Dancers on pointe must have some prior experience and proper fitting shoes and accessories.  Ballet slippers, tights and a leotard are required.  Hair should be pulled away from face, in a bun.

AGE: 13 to 18 years
DAY: Tuesday
TIME: 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
LENGTH: 4 weeks

Dancers begin learning basic tap sets in place and across the floor with age appropriate technique.  Dancers also learn tap terms and how to recognize tap sounds.  Tap Shoes are required.

Contemporary

Intermediate/Advanced Contemporary Dance

Dancers are taught choreography which will either build each week or be a short combination.  They learn contemporary style and movement popular today in the entertainment industry.  Some knowledge of dance is required including jazz or ballet.

Jazz Dance

Our instructor teaches proper dance technique exposing students to various styles, developing a well-rounded dancer.  Class is based on traditional jazz movement, layered with ballet technique and includes proper warm-up, stretches, across-the-floor progressions (leaps, jazz walk, and pirouette), and combinations.

AGE: 6 to 10 years

Belly Dancing

Enjoy the combined techniques of Egyptian, African, Moroccan and Persian cultures in the gypsy style of Baladi. Learn rhythms, finger cymbals, dance posture, and basics of the dance. No costuming required! A great aerobic workout.

Line Dancing

Do you find yourself tapping your toes and singing along to country music on the radio? Wish you could dance along too? Then come out to our Line Dancing class, offered through the Hesperia Recreation and Park District. Even beginners with two left feet can learn new dances every week. For more information please call (760) 244-5488. Monthly registration may be done at a class meeting, online, or at Lime Street Park Community Center at 16292 Lime Street. Walk-ins also welcome at each class!
