The Hesperia Recreation and Park District is privileged to be
the home of the internationally known Banana Museum. This
display is the world’s largest collection of a single fruit.
Mr. Ken Bannister began the collection 30 years ago and has been
interviewed on nationally televised programs and featured in
international publications. The Harrison Exhibit Center will
continue to display a portion of the John M. Swisher Collection.
We are open each Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m. and the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to
1:00 p.m.
We are looking for individuals who are interested in local history
and would like to volunteer for the exhibit center as a docent. If
you would like more information on either the exhibit center or
the docent program, please call the District Office.
