Tiny Dancers

Classes start in March!

Parent and me dance class for children ages 2 - 4 years old.  Music, movement, balance, and basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, friendly, and positive manner.  This type of class includes a loved one engaging in the class along with the tiny dancer.  The instructor will keep the curriculum moving along, while parents take an active role in encouraging, supporting, and keeping the tiny dancer on track. Participation is optional but loved one must be present for the class. 

AGE: 2 to 4 years

DAY: Tuesday

TIME: 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.

LENGTH: 4 weeks

STARTS: First Tuesday of each month

PLACE: Rick Novack Community Center

FEE: $15 per participant

Ballet Dance 1

Classes start in March!

An introduction to ballet dance.  This class covers ballet steps with an emphasis on gross motor skill development, listening skills, and peer interaction.  It teaches fun and easy dances to help build coordination and self-esteem.  

AGE: 5 to 8 years

DAY: Tuesday

TIME: 3:45 - 4:30 p.m.

LENGTH: 4 weeks

STARTS: First Tuesday of each month

PLACE: Rick Novack Community Center

FEE: $25 per participant

Ballet Dance 2

Classes start in March!

Includes the basics of ballet movements and terminology.  Each class incorporates a formal ballet warm-up, introductory training of proper ballet technique, and combinations.  The dancer will have fun while learning the beginning steps. 

AGE: 9 to 12 years

DAY: Tuesday

TIME: 4:45 - 5:45 p.m.

LENGTH: 4 weeks

STARTS: First Tuesday of each month

FEE: $27 per participant

Jazz Dance

Our new instructor teaches proper dance technique exposing students to various styles, developing a well-rounded dancer.  Class is based on traditional jazz movement, layered with ballet technique and includes proper warm-up, stretches, across-the-floor progressions (leaps, jazz walk, and pirouette), and combinations.

AGE: 6 to 9 years

DAY: Wednesday

TIME: 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

LENGTH: 4 weeks

STARTS: First Wednesday of each month

PLACE: Rick Novack Community Center

FEE: $35 per participant

Belly Dancing

Enjoy the combined techniques of Egyptian, African, Moroccan and Persian cultures in the gypsy style of Baladi. Learn rhythms, finger cymbals, dance posture, and basics of the dance. No costuming required! A great aerobic workout.

AGE: 13 years and older

DAY: Wednesday

TIME(S): Beginners – 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Intermediate – 8:15 to 9:15 p.m.

LENGTH: 4 weeks

STARTS: First Wednesday of each month

PLACE: Rick Novack Community Center

FEE: $20.00 per participant

Line Dancing

Do you find yourself tapping your toes and singing along to country music on the radio? Wish you could dance along too? Then come out to our Line Dancing class, offered through the Hesperia Recreation and Park District. Even beginners with two left feet can learn new dances every week. For more information please call (760) 244-5488. Monthly registration may be done at a class meeting, online, or at Lime Street Park Community Center at 16292 Lime Street. Walk-ins also welcome at each class!
