Little Learners

Our Little Learners program is designed for young toddlers and their parents. The classes include music, crafts, games, and activities to encourage fine and gross motor coordination, language, and social interaction. Click below for more information.

This program is designed for toddlers aged 15 to 26 months and their parents. It includes music, crafts, games, and activities that promote fine and gross motor coordination, language, and social interaction. The class runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. for 6 to 8 classes per month. The fee is $22.00 per month, and the location is Timberlane Activity Center at 9480 Timberlane Avenue, Hesperia. Pre-registration is required.

The Timberlane Activity Center offers a program for toddlers between 27 and 36 months old and their parents. The Best Friends program aims to encourage child development, social interaction, play, and crafts through activities that require the participation of both parties. The program runs for 6 to 8 monthly classes, instructed by Tammy Anderson. Pre-registration is mandatory.

This program caters to children who are already potty-trained and fall between the ages of 3-5. Its activities are centered around the child’s interests and include crafts, music, learning shapes, colors, alphabet, numbers, and games. Parents are allowed to observe for a short period of time to determine which curriculum would be best suited for their child. Siblings are not allowed to participate in activities and parents must pack a snack. Classes are conducted individually, and the curriculum varies. The age of the child may need to be verified, and pre-registration is required.

Introduce your 4-5 year old to a fun and educational prekindergarten program. Our first-come, first-serve classes focus on colors, shapes, letters, numbers, and social/emotional growth. Snacks are provided by parents, and classes run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. for 6-8 classes per month. Register soon at Timberlane Activity Center in Hesperia for $60/month.

Learn to Dance

This private dance class offers personalized instruction in various styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap and hip hop. Suitable for ages 5 and up, students will learn choreography set to age-appropriate music and how to dance in time to the beat.

For children aged 5-6, this class offers instruction in ballet and jazz for those who have completed level 1. Participants can get exercise while learning to dance.
Schedule: Mondays from 6:10-6:50 p.m.
Fee: $40 per month for 4 sessions.

This class is designed for students who are beginners or have some experience in dance. It offers a welcoming atmosphere with age-appropriate music. During the ballet portion, students will learn terminology, flexibility training, barre work, center floor/across floor, choreography and various jumps and turns. The tap portion will teach terminology, center/across-the-floor combos and various rhythm skills.
Enrollment requires a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 20 participants between the ages of 6 to 12 years old.
Schedule: Mondays from 4:30 – 5:15 p.m.
Fee: $40 per month for 4 sessions.

This beginner combo class is designed for students aged 6 to 13 with varying levels of dance experience. Participants will enjoy age-appropriate music and a welcoming atmosphere while learning flexibility training, turns, jumps, terminology, barre work, choreography and center/across-the-floor work.
Enrollment requires a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 20 participants.
Schedule: Mondays from 5:20 – 6:05 p.m.
Fee: $40 per month for 4 sessions.

Students aged 2 1/2 to 5, with the assistance of a parent or guardian, will learn basic skills in Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz and hip-hop styles while incorporating props to make exercise fun.
Enrollment requires a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 20 participants.
Schedule: Wednesdays from 4:00-4:30 p.m.
Fee: $20 per month for 4 sessions.

This class teaches both old and new styles of street dancing, combining turns, jumps, and social dance movements. Students will learn choreography set to age-appropriate music and how to keep time with the beat. Stretching, flexibility and strength exercises are also incorporated at the beginning of each class. Enrollment requires a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 20 participants.
Schedule: Wednesdays from 4:35-5:25 p.m.
Fee: $40 per month for 4 sessions.

Looking to explore the rich cultural heritage of Egyptian, African, Moroccan and Persian dance techniques? Join Helen Myers’ Baladi class, where you’ll learn the basics of this gypsy style of dance, including rhythms, finger cymbals, and posture. No need for a costume – just come ready for a great aerobic workout!
Schedule: Beginning classes from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and intermediate classes from 7:45-8:45 p.m. on Thursdays.
Fee: $25 per month for 4 sessions.

If you’re a country music fan who loves to tap your toes and sing along, why not take your love for the genre to the next level? Our Line Dancing class is the perfect place to start. Even if you’re a beginner with two left feet, you’ll be able to learn new dances every week. You can register online or in-person at the Percy Bakker Community Center, and walk-ins are always welcome.
Schedule: Tuesdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Fee: $20.00 per month or $7.00 per class

Looking for a fun and productive way to spend your Sunday with your kids? Look no further than A2R Performance Development! With classes available for ages 5 1/2 -17, there is something for everyone. The classes are broken down by age group and skill level. With the 5 1/2-8 year olds starting at 10:00 am and beginner 9-17 year olds starting at 11:10. The location is Epicentre, located at 17508 Hercules Street. The fee for participation is $80 per month, per participant.

The instructor, Aaron Alston, is a highly experienced coach who has played at the high school, college, and professional levels. He has over 6 years of experience training children, college and professional athletes. He has created A2R Performance Development to provide affordable basketball skills development training to the High Desert. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn from one of the best!

Join the fun and effective fitness class at Percy Bakker Community Center. Suitable for adults over 18, you’ll enjoy low-impact exercises, line dances, Latin moves, waltzes, step, strength training, and flexibility exercises tailored to your ability. The certified instructor is CPR and First Aid certified. Classes run on Mondays and Fridays from 9-10 am, starting on the first Monday of each month. Fee is $21/month or $3/class. Enhance your volleyball skills at Rick Novack Community Center with top-notch instructor Osler Sacramed. Athletes aged 8-17 can learn proper techniques for the game, while developing self-discipline and teamwork. Class held Tuesdays/Thursdays from 4-6pm for 4/8 weeks, starting on the first Tuesday/Thursday of each month. Fee is $40/4 classes or $80/8 classes per participant. Pre-registration required.

Get top-notch basketball training for your kids and teens aged 11-18 at the Rick Novack Community Center! Coach Rodrick Solomon leads sessions for all skill levels, covering ball handling, passing, shooting, defense, and more. The fee is $100/participant, and the schedule is Ages 11-14 years – 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Ages 15-18 years – 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Bring your own basketball, and get ready to shine on your school or youth team!

Martial Arts

Learning self-defense is a valuable skill that can boost your confidence, help you stay focused, and improve physical fitness. Consider taking a class and investing in yourself.

We offer Practical Self Defense lessons in Chinese Kickboxing, and Lucaylucay Kali / JKD. This class teaches the fundamentals of Martial Arts which provides a Discipline for students to get familiar with their own individual strengths and weaknesses. By better understanding themselves through Martial Arts, students are encouraged to cultivate their potential and overcome limitations. Everyone can honestly express themselves as they face their own obstacles in life and flow confidently toward their own personal growth and achievements. Our classes also include warm-up aerobic exercises, stretching, and body conditioning.

Self-defense/Kung Fu for kids aged 6-12 teaches self-discipline, confidence, coordination, and balance. They’ll learn non-violent conflict resolution, leadership, and become well-rounded individuals. Classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays at Lime Street Park Community Center for $25/month with Instructor Lennard Craig Willhite.

Join our class to improve attention, confidence, and problem-solving skills in a non-violent way. For ages 13+. Mondays and Wednesdays at Lime Street Park Community Center, $35/month. Instructor: Lennard Craig Willhite.

Karate classes for kids aged 4-6 taught by Brandon Marquez at Rick Novack Community Center on Mondays or Wednesdays from 5:30-6:00pm. Monthly fee of $30 for one class or $40 for two. Uniforms available for purchase. Pre-registration required.

Learn Shotokan Karate in a family atmosphere. Increase fitness, balance, flexibility, and self-discipline. Ages 7 & up, Mondays and/or Wednesdays at Rick Novack Community Center. Special Interest

Ukulele Lessons
Join our ukulele class f or all levels on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Lime Street Park Community Center. Bring your own Tenor Ukulele with a low G string and a music stand. Our instructor provides a songbook and teaches Hawaiian, Classical, Country, 60’s Rock ‘n Roll, and Folk music. Open to ages 12+. Register now for $40/month.
